When I describe my morning meditation routine, people are often surprised to hear I wear headphones. I do and they help sustain my practice significantly. I meditate without headphones during the day as well, but for that first solo session in the morning I just listen to fifteen minutes of a constant drumbeat; and the second I put those headphones on my whole body and soul settle down and prepare themselves for inner work.

So if you need permission, I'm here to tell you it is perfectly fine to use modern tools to support your practice. Headphones are just one example, pre-recorded guided meditations are another great example. The benefits of meditating are subtle but profound and you experience them the most when you are meditating regularly. So set yourself up for success and include all the tools you need to keep coming to your practice day after day.
